August Newsletter 2023

Happy August Friends!
It has been a whirlwind spring and summer for us here at the brewery, tons of changes and evolution happening. As part of that, we are resurrecting our monthly newsletter, which will go out via email around the first of each month and keep you all abreast of happenings at both locations, market activity, new beer releases, and all other pertinent information any lover of Sockeye should be aware of. Tell your friends!
On the breaking news front, we are pleased to announce that we have been named Best Pub Food in Idaho by Taste of Home! Huge congrats to chefs Teresa and Michael and their entire teams, some of the most motivated and hardworking folks in the game, and we are really proud of their work. Come in this month to either location to check out our award winning and recently updated food menus!
In other news, we said goodbye to longtime and beloved Sockeye bartender and server Stacie Kinney, as she moves into an exciting new career in social work. We wish her well in her endeavor to make the world a better place, and thank her profusely for her 20 years of dedicated service.Thank you Stacie!

On the beer side these are indeed exciting times, in recent weeks we have dropped a new rye lager called Secale Soda, one of our best Hazy IPA types to date in Lost in the Wake, a bold American brown ale called Broken Bell, and just a couple of kegs of our latest Chronicles membership release Oude Purp, a barrel fermented oud bruin with blackberries! This week we will be releasing two more new flavors, a robust porter with vanilla on nitro called Edmond’s Gesture, and a revamped version of Lil Cutie, our tangerine IPA, now brewed with real fruit. All this in addition to our regular lineup, a stellar selection of barrel aged bottles available on site or to-go, and our rotating cask selections at the Fairview location. We just figured out that we will end up making about 60 different brews this year, so stop on by and get your lips on the latest before they’re gone!
Finally, we want to make you aware of our annual Bacon & Beer Festival coming up on September 9th at Expo Idaho. We will have 25+ breweries there serving their best, a dozen local restaurants dishing up exciting bacon concoctions, and we just booked some incredible musical entertainment with David Henry and Soul Serene, so it should be a heck of an afternoon before the first BSU home football game! This year’s event benefits the Idaho Conservation League, and tickets are on sale now. You can find them here. Hope to see you there!
