For the third year in a row, Sockeye brewers came home with the highest number of awards among Idaho breweries at the North American Brewer’s Association 2016 competition, held at the 22nd Annual Mountain Brewers’ Beer Fest. Our Brew Crew was recognized for seven of their beers—including two gold medals—topping last year’s total of six medals!
The 2016 NABA results gave a big, golden nod to two of our often-awarded beers: our Maibock and our Powerhouse Porter.
The NABA is a leading, prestigious beer competition, complete with double-blind taste-testing sessions, sanctioned judges, and specific style parameters. Sockeye first entered the NABA shortly after our brewery was founded, and in July, we celebrate our 20 Year Anniversary. As with our namesake Sockeye Salmon, steady determination has its rewards. The recognition at the 2016 NABA is one of them.
This industry-coveted hardware is the shiny recognition of the great passion our Brew Crew has for brewing consistently top-notch beers. Our Brew Crew has nearly 80 years of experience between them, and our medal count now weighs in at 139!
Celebrate with us, when you enjoy the flavor from a fresh pour of our gold-winning, year round beers, Maibock or Powerhouse Porter. Toast to top-quality, Idaho crafted beers. We love leading the field of Idaho breweries competing, but first and foremost: we are committed to brewing the best beer Idaho has to offer. That comes first, ahead of competitions, and always ahead of high volume output. From the highest quality of ingredients and our proven methods—we’re always focused on the finest beer we can brew. Cheers to 7 fine beers, 20 years in the making!
