Welcome to March *Madness*!

Now that February has come and gone we are looking forward to an exciting and busy month ahead! We've got lot of familiar beers coming into the rotation this month including Barrel Aged Salty Bear Dark Caramel Gose and Old Devil's Tooth Barleywine to name a few. Fans of Alefort will be excited to know we've partnered up with the good folks running the show and will be brewing and releasing an ALL IDAHO inspired beer. Gem State Kolsch will roll down the line just in time for the event and will contain all Idaho ingredients! Stay tuned to our Facebook for more details as we get closer to it's release, because this beer will go fast!

The beginning of spring is officially in sight which means that we are gearing up for our semi-annual bazaar! We're opening our Fairview packaging facility March 10 to host several local vendors showcasing jewelry, clothing, home decor and several other local wares! The event is free to attend and will run from 11am to 4pm. As an added bonus, with each purchase made during the event, you will also receive a 15% off coupon redeemable for food at either of our locations, so you won't want to miss out! Click the link below to make sure you get all the details!

With March comes March Madness and in just a few short weeks NCAA March Madness will be in full swing and both of our pubs will be your go-to spot to catch all of the games your looking for. March also brings St. Patrick’s Day! Catch the "Luck of the Irish" in each of our pubs which will welcome back an ‘Irish-themed’ menu full of corned beef perfectly paired with $3 green beers or $5 'Sockeye Car bombs'.

Lastly, we want to remind you that we always have live music at our Cole pub every Tuesday and Friday along with the ever popular trivia on Wednesday! Happy hour is always Monday thru Friday, 3pm-6pm at both locations and includes $1 off pints, wines and snifters. Be sure to keep up on our pub happenings and deals through our website events calendar, so you never miss what's going on at Sockeye!

Cheers!

Welcome to February!

We are another month closer to spring, which of course means there are new Sockeye beers on the horizon!  We are currently transitioning into our next core seasonal; Maibock.  Maibock will be taking the place of Winterfest in the coming weeks, along with Sour Puss American Sour replacing Huggy Bear as our next seasonal sour rotator.  Keep an eye on our tap lineups at the pubs because we have some favorites making their way in soon.  Dangerous Golden Stout, Stonefly White, GALENA GOLD, and Lonesome Larry will all be making appearances soon!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 4-Way IPA release.  Each of our four brewers made a unique IPA in the pursuit of creating our next seasonal IPA.  We received a bunch of great feedback and will have more news on the winning recipe soon.  If you did not get to try any of these beers, fear not!  We have a few more tastings lined up with accounts this month (see list below in events).

Speaking of beers, our Power House Porter just won a gold medal at this year’s Best of Craft Beer Awards in Bend, Oregon!  This year, Judging took place in five sessions over a 3-day period by nearly 80 of the finest West Coast judges. They awarded 245 gold, silver, and bronze medals to 152 brewery locations in a total of 86 categories.  This marks the 18th accolade for our brown porter, making it the most awarded brew in our arsenal.  If porters are one of your favorite styles, you will be thrilled to know our brewer for a day winner, Randy, chose an imperial porter to brew with us on February 13th, which will be available for a limited time at the pubs upon its release.  We will have a ton of updates on social media throughout the day so keep an eye out.

We had another two very successful Tip the Teacher nights at our pubs last month, raising well over $600 for more local schools in the Treasure Valley!  If you have any recommendations, email our pub events coordinator, Erin at: erink@sockeyebrew.com.

There are still some tickets available for our Brewer’s Dinner on February 10th at the Cole Pub if you’re looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early this year.  You can preview the menu on our website events page or on our Facebook page.  We will be planning more dinners, special events, and pairings for beer releases throughout the year, including more Paint Nites!  Our first Paint Nites were a ton of fun!  Thank you to our sold-out crowds who came out and painted with us!  We have more dates coming up soon so check our events calendar often!  Also, don’t forget trivia every Wednesday at the Cole Pub.  Happy hour is from 3-6 and trivia starts at 7 so there’s plenty of time to “warm up” before dropping knowledge.  Have a fantastic February!

Welcome to the New Year!

We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. 2018 is here and we have a lot of big things in store for the year, starting with the return of one of our old favorites; Galena Gold. We have gotten a TON of messages asking if this beer is ever going to be back and the answer is “yes!” beginning in February. Upon its release, it will only be available on tap in the pubs and you may see it pop up in a few other local restaurants and bars as well. We are considering canning it again when summer gets closer so stay tuned.

Congratulations to our Brewer for a Day; Randy (ticket number: 026117). Thank you to everyone who participated in our raffle to help raise money for the Idaho Food Bank!

If you’re looking for some fun ways to pass the time until spring, we still have trivia nights rolling every Wednesday at the Cole pub, as well as live music every Tuesday and Friday. We are also starting up Paint & Sip nights at both locations. Our first events will be on January 29th at our Fairview and Cloverdale location and February 1st at the Cole pub. Each spot is $45 to reserve and they will go fast so grab some friends and sign up! While you’ve got your calendar out, save January 20th and 21st for our 4-way IPA release at both pubs. Each of our brewers have made their own IPA recipe and we will have them all on tap for a limited time.

Tip the Teacher night is starting back up on Thursday, January 18th, where we will host Shadow Hills Elementary at the Cole Pub. As a reminder, we are always looking for different schools and school teams to partner up with for our charity nights. If you have any recommendations, email our pub events coordinator, Erin at: erink@sockeyebrew.com.

Finally, we have merchandise available for sale online now! We have posted a few of our most popular items (sorry, no beers) so you can represent Idaho’s most awarded craft brewery! Check them out and treat yourself to a late Christmas present (link below).

Our special events are starting to stack back up so follow us on social media and peruse our events calendar on the website to stay in the know. Thank you to all our loyal newsletter subscribers! Here’s to a prosperous and craft-beer-filled 2018!

Drink like a fish!

Welcome to December!

Another month has flown by!  We can’t believe it is December already!  We have been receiving a ton of food donations for the Idaho Food Bank.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed.  Just a reminder, you get $1 off your first drink if you bring in three canned food items to either pub.  We are also contributing $1 per ticket sold for our “Brewer for a Day” raffle.  Help us get food to those in need through the holiday season.

If you haven’t heard, we are selling $10 tickets for a chance to be brewer for a day at Sockeye!  One lucky winner will be able to:

• Help choose a style of beer to brew.
• Receive his/her very own “Brewer for a Day” t shirt and brewer’s boots.
• Get a case of cans to share with friends.
• Learn about the brewing process from some of Idaho’s most experienced brewers!

If you’re looking for a unique gift to get the craft beer lover in your life; this is it! The winner will be announced on December 28th.  Combine a couple of our limited-release barrel aged bottles and some of our new winter wearables and you have yourself a gift pack that would even make Santa jealous!

We have been getting a lot more inquiries for shipping merchandise and gift cards (especially during the holidays).  As a limited time offer, every $25 you spend on gift cards, you will get an additional $5.  We are excited to announce that we will soon have an online store where some of our most popular items can be purchased (excluding beers).  In the meantime, if you need a Sockeye gift shipped, just e mail us at: info@sockeyebrew.com.

Speaking of shipping, we have recently shipped beer over 5,000 miles, marking the first time ever Sockeye beers will be distributed internationally.  That’s right, our beer is officially available in Japan!  We have had so much fun reading the UnTappd reviews and seeing the social media posts from clear across the world.  Our Dagger Falls already seems to be very popular there as they have a thirst for big northwest IPAs!

Finally, just a reminder that we still have live music indoors at our Cole pub throughout the winter.  The music schedule can be found on our website events calendar or towards the bottom of this email.  We also still have trivia every Wednesday beginning at 7pm.  Have a very merry and safe holiday!

Drink like a fish!

Welcome to November!

First off, thank you to everyone who help us raise money in October for the American Cancer Society. Yesterday we presented a check for $1,100 that will go directly to cancer research. We really appreciate all the local bars and restaurants who put pink Dagger handles up all month long to help raise awareness. Let’s try and double that number next year!

The holidays are upon us and we have a bunch of fun stuff in store for the season! Beginning November 20th, we will be selling tickets to earn a chance to be brewer for a day at Sockeye! Tickets are $10 each and $1 per ticket sold will be donated to the Idaho Food Bank. Buy a ticket and some of our awesome new winter merchandise to create the best Christmas gift ever for the craft beer lover in your life! The drawing will be held on December 19th at Fairview and Cloverdale. Starting next Monday, we will begin collecting nonperishable food items to donate through the holidays as well. Bring in three separate nonperishable food items and get $1 off your first drink at either pub.

We have a couple of big events coming right up. Make sure you check out our Sockeye Holiday Bazaar tomorrow in the packaging building at our Fairview location, located directly behind the restaurant. There will be everything from crafts and clothes to jewelry and art. Admission is free so come stop by and look around. We also have a few tickets left for our Barrel Aged Social on November 11th. If you love barrel aged beers, this event is for you! $25 gets you access to over 10 limited release barrel aged Sockeye beers as well as a commemorative snifter glass with our Soaked in Oak logo (ticket link below).

We had another very successful month with our Tip the Teacher nights raising $392.91 for Heritage Middle School and $374.18 for Fairmont Jr. High. We are having so much fun bringing the community together for this great cause. We are also wanting to host some school teams as well so if you have any recommendations, email our pub events coordinator, Erin at: erink@sockeyebrew.com.

Also, as a reminder; you can catch live music at the Cole pub every Tuesday and Friday as well as trivia every Wednesday! Bring some friends down and check out our new happy hour menu.
